Theatre - In the theatre tradition during
the early centuries, religious drama domain the scene.
Theatre reached its height at 10th century and after
which it was suppressed by the ancient regime. And
interest arouse again in the 19th century. After the
2nd Word War, Zurich theatre achieved international
standard, which they have in their well known opera
house.
Zürich Opera House
Switzerland’s most prestigious opera house host
both opera and ballet performances. This neo-baroque
opera house has gained international fame since it
opened in 1891.

Tonhalle Concert Hall
Fame for its acoustics, it has a programme of world-class
classical music. Located near the lake, this 1895
concert hall housed its own orchestra and the Zurich
Chamber Orchestra, the Tonhalle.
